Corpus Christi has a pro hockey team?
I think the notion that the Rayz are a pro team is debatable. After last night you'd have serious trouble convincing me they know how to play hockey. Sure, they can skate and hit the puck, but I don't think I saw them pull off one play. So while it was fabulous to see the RiverKings win, the game felt like I was watching the hockey episode of the Three Stooges, if there ever was such an episode.
And anyone that believes that luck plays no part in sports is full of it. How lucky are the RiverKings for drawing the Rayz for the last two games of the regular season, especially with a playoff run so tight for points? Come on, the 'Kings would have had to try to not win last night for the outcome to be any different. They were so sad, you almost felt sorry for them. If the RiverKings didn't need the win so bad, I might have wished for them to take it easy on the poor little guys. Hopefully someone will pick up a playbook for the Rayz for next year. Good luck guys!
And with the lack of any fantabulous game play last night, I'm going stockpile this write-up with photos. After all, they pay me the big bucks to write about the game, but as long as I cover it with some words that let you know how it went down (RiverKings won, 6-2) I can pretty much upload all the pretty photos I want. So here I go!

I have way too many photos of these two guys. Not because I'm so enamored of either one, but because they are all over the place! I like them both just fine, but there are plenty of times I'm wondering if they're ever not in the middle of a play. And is it just me or is Landmesser playing like 50 minutes of hockey a night? Is he an ice hog or a masochist?

Here's a good one of Darrell Stoddard. It was really great to see him score and not fight. I for one like to see him shoot pucks, not throw punches.

And we have Ryan Held, right after he put the puck past Smith. If you look you can see the puck in the net behind Smith.

This kind of shot of Centomo showing off his mad flexibility can get some of the lady fans all bothered. The puck actually did manage to sneak past him, but shhhh, we won't talk about that. Just enjoy the photo.

Here's a good one of Sheldon Wenzel, who has obviously lost his razor. And why do they always have their tongues hanging out? Do they not realize that I'm in the stands with a camera?

How sweet! A hug at a hockey game!

Here's a good one of Lawmaster with the puck. Apparently the razor thing is going around.

Here's a clean shot of Rick Kozak, for all his fans. I'm sure the girls with green hair on the glass will love this one!
Note to editor: I told you this would happen if you sent a photographer to do these!

That doesn't look very friendly.

I just had to upload this one cause it's funny.

Another hug. Just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Another good one, this time with Stoddard and Carnegie.

This one is unique because Kozak is smiling. Weird.

Even without any RiverKings in the shot, this still has to be my favorite of the night. I'm just funny that way.

Ryan,
Thank you so much for your in-depth analysis and consistent updates. I am a die hard Tiger alumni and Tiger Fan!! and I have been starving for consistent update on our Program right the Nat'l Championship game. Ahhhh!!! you know what I mean, but we will be back sooner than everyone thinks.
After reading several of your articles above, it is clear to me that you feel the same way I do about our Program, Coach Cal and the entire Tiger's staff along with the 1st lady of the Program, which is none other than "Ellen Calipari".
This is one classy lady and I love how she help manages the program through her husband letting him know when to back off the players. Although; I think she has a soft spot for Joey though, well who doesn't. LOL :~}
Man, all I can say is keep up the good work!!!
