Now on to Game 6

If you weren't at the DCC last night, you missed a real "edge of your seat" kind of game. It was the fifth game in the RK vs. Blazers playoff series in the quarter finals, and I for one was hoping it would be the game to end the series.  The Blazers are a fast, physical team, and last night they didn't disappoint.  Even though the RiverKings out shot them almost 2 - 1, they managed to win 5 - 4. The Blazers managed to pull away in the 2nd period, making the score 4-2, but the RiverKings fought hard for a come back in the 3rd, almost tying it up.

My biggest complaint about last night wasn't as much about the final score as it was about the officiating.  JP Sylvain was the ref last night, and the best thing I can say about the job he did was that he was consistent.  He was letting just about everything go.  And when you're playing a rough team like the Blazers, this kind of officiating can easily result in injuries.  Don't get me wrong, I will usually wind up yelling at the ref at least once in every game. And I admit I'm pretty biased when it comes to all things RiverKings.  I'm not saying Sylvain lost the game for the 'Kings.  With or without his help I think the Blazers would have won last night.  The Blazers had to win last night or they were through.  I still don't think they'll win the series, because I just plain think the RiverKings are a better team, but they will take it to at least game 6.  The Blazers wanted the win more, and they were smart enough to capitalize on the power plays.  I just hope that should Sylvain wind up wearing orange at any more games in the playoffs, no one gets hurt. 

Regardless of who ends up wearing the stripes at our next game, I hope that the next time I see the RiverKings playing at the DCC, it will be against Colorado.  Sorry Mudbugs fans.

You say it like it was play'd and you could not have done a better job in discribing the loss to the Kings. Will wait your pics, as i sw you across from me just having at it. but really JP was and is always a thorn in some ones side and last nite it was ours.
